WMC Engineering has a position for an APPRENTICE 1ST CLASS METAL MACHINIST to join our busy workshop in Harvey. We require a motivated, hardworking person with an interest in Engineering.
The apprenticeship is for a 4 year fixed term and the successful applicant will undertake a structured training program on-the-job and at TAFE. This apprenticeship offers the opportunity to work in a modern workshop equipped for general precision and computerised (CNC) machining, servicing the Mining Industry.

Engineering Fabrication Trade Apprenticeship - Katanning - Southern Rural Fabrication (Advertised 19/11/20)
An Opportunity for a 4 Year Engineering Fabrication Apprenticeship exists at Southern Rural Fabrication located in Katanning commencing early 2021.
When you complete the Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (Heavy/Welding YH) you'll be looking at a trades career as a boilermaker, welder or fabricator in industries such as defence, mining, engineering or construction. Develop practical knowledge and gain hands-on skills in fabrication and welding, using industry standard technologies and techniques.
Gain these skills:
• Create and work with metal fabrications
• Use workshop machines
• Use hand and power tools
• Metal, Gas, Flux Core and Tungsten
• Arc Welding
• Thermal Cutting
• Technic Drawing
• Workplace health and safety
Essential requirements for the role:
• Must be reliable, punctual, tidy and have a positive attitude
• Have the ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
• Be Enthusiastic and Willing to Learn
• Good Interpersonal and Communication Skills
• Strong Problem Solving Skills
• Ability to attend TAFE in Albany or Perth.
• C Class Driver’s Licence
Desired requirements for the role:
• Completion of a Fabrication Pre-Apprenticeship will be looked at favourably, but not essential
• Experience in the use of power tools and machinery would also be beneficial.
Preference will be given to candidates who are motivated to succeed, with commitment to safety and a genuine interest to complete a trade apprenticeship.
