Wagin Woolarama 2009 PDF Print E-mail

 

A large amount of time was recently dedicated to coaching students for various competitions at Wagin Woolorama.  Congratulations all students and staff for their efforts and enthusiasm, and especially Mrs Birch (Sheep Technical Officer), Mr Robins (Beef Technical Officer) and Mr Gelmi (Teacher, Animals) for their coordination of the coaching and participation of students.  This is a showcase event allowing students to promote themselves and the Harvey College in a high profile, agricultural event.

 

Cattle

  • Amisty Gray - placed 7th in the Junior Cattle Judging. Amisty competed against 82 other competitors.
  • Morgan Okely - placed 4th in the Cattle Handlers Competition - unlucky due to a mishap with the cane. Morgan competed against 25 other competitors.
  • Ex 2008 student - Nicole Strehle won "Open Wool Judging Competition"

 

Sheep

  • Team 1 - placed 2nd in the Merino Judging. Team competitors involved Ross Curry, A Halford, N Wilson, G Hutton.
  • Darcy Broderick and Nathaniel Wilson participated in the Novice Shearing.
  • Gemma Hutton - placed 5th in the "Merino Judging". Competed against 9 competitors.
